Before we get started installing a WordPress plugin on your website I want to tell you that there is a free plugin and premium plugin and the process of installing both of them are different.
Let’s get started…
1. Install a WordPress Plugin (Free Plugin)
Before you can install a WordPress plugin first you need to log in to your website dashboard, example: https://yoursitedom.com/wp-admin to log in to your admin panel.
On left side of your dashboard go and click on Plugins.
Then it will bring you to the installed plugin page, at the top left you will Add New button click on to start install plugin on your website.
What you can see next is the new page page that allow you to find a plugin you want or install plugin that most popular in that page, if you have a plugin you know then you can find it via search with search box…
I will use the Revive old post plugin for an example in this article.
After you found the plugin you want to install then it time to install and activate it on your website by clicking on the install button.
While installing a plugin you may have wait few seconds to complete the installation, when it done you can click on activate button to active the plugin on your site
Now you had done the first method of install a WordPress plugin on your website and it ready to move to the next step.
2. Install a WordPress Plugin (Premium Plugin)
To begin install a premium WordPress plugin you need to had a downloaded plugin from the company that you had bought from them and make sure the plugin you had dowloaded is in .zip file.
AND we’re ready to go…
Now once again go to Plugins > Add New and then you can start to install a premium plugin on your website.
After you at the top left you will see the upload button and you have to click on it to upload the plugin file that you had downloaded from the website.
First you need to click choose file button and you about to select the plugin file that you had downloaded where you located on your computer.
After you had chose the file then you need to click on Install Now button and after it done you will bring to next page so you have to click on Activate.
Now you had done the second methods of installing a WordPress plugin for your website so let’s move to the next step.
3. Install a WordPress Plugin using cPanel
Now this is the next step that you should learn how you can install WordPress plugin using your hosting provider cPanel.
Step 1:
It may look different of your cPanel, it depending on your hosting provider company design anyway the progress is working the same just follow the steps.
Step 2:
If you host only one domain on your web hosting server, you have to open the public_html directory, because that’s where all of your WordPress files and folders are residing.
By defaults you will see like the image above, so what you had to do is open up the wp-content folder and then we ready to go…
Step 3:
After you had opened wp-content folder then you will see folders and files like below image.
After go and find the plugins folder and then open it up to get start upload the plugin file to be install.
Step 4:
You can see all the plugins you have on your WordPress site right now. To upload a new plugin, you must use the Upload link showing on the horizontal main navigation menu of cPanel.
Now, it will open a new tap on your browser and you able to upload plugin file were located on your computer and make sure the file is in the .zip extension.
Step 5:
When the upload completed, let’s get back to the previous browser tap and reload the page then you will see your uploaded file, now we need to extract to file from .zip file.
To extract file from the .zip you need to right click on the file and then click on extract then you ready install a WordPress plugin for website.
